P.J Joseph is a politician from Kerala who serves for Kerala congress. He have become MLA for eight times and become minister for six times. Currently he is an irrigation minister.

Personal and Family life of Minister P.J Joseph

P.J Joseph born as the son of P.O Joseph and Annamma Joseph on 10th June 1942. P.J Joseph have completed BA economics from Loyola College, Chennai and

MA economics from Sacred Hearts College, Thevara. He started his life has agriculturalist and later become active in politics through Kerala congress. Later he married Dr. Santha Joseph who is a gynecologist and they have 3 sons and a daughter. P.J Joseph is also a good singer.

Political life and History of Minister P.J Joseph

P.J Joseph joined Kerala congress in the year 1968. He was first elected to Kerala assembly in the year 1970 from Thodupuzha constituency. In the following years 1977, 1980, 1982, 1987, 1996, 2006 and 2011 he retains his position in Thodupuzha constituency. P.J Joseph lost for the first time in 2001 Kerala assembly election. He was the Home minister of Kerala in the A.K Antony ministry for eight months (16-1-1978 to 15-9-1978). Then he became the minister of revenue and housing in Karunakaran ministry, and became minister of education, works, housing and registration in E.K Nayanar ministry. Recently he was the minister of education in V.S Achuthanandan ministry. But he resigned from the ministry on 4 November 2006 because of misbehavior with a lady co-passenger on a Kingfisher flight. Then later he come in UDF with an alliance with K.M Mani (Kerala Congress M).

P.J Joseph was the member of syndicate of Kerala university. He is also the founder of Gandhiji study center. Introduction of Plus 2 schools in Kerala was during his time. In Kerala assembly election 2011 P.J Joseph defeated Joseph Augustine of LDF with 22,868 votes.
