Story of Chappa Kurishu Malayalam movie

Chappa Kurishu tells a story of two personalities who are completely different from each other, almost like the two sides of a coin. Their lives get entangled with each other through a course of events in the story. Arjun (Fahadh Faasil) and Ansari (Vineeth Srinivasan) represent the two extreme characters. Arjun is a handsome young businessman who is on the road to becoming a powerful man in the corporate world. His rising fame and success has made him quite arrogant in a way that he wants the world to move beneath his feet. He lives in an extremely fashionable house in Cochin. Though he is engaged to be married to Ann (Roma), he is having a sidelined secret affair with his secretary Sonia (Remya Nambeeshan). The actual story begins when Arjun suddenly loses his mobile phone which has one of his hidden meetings with Sonia. Meanwhile, Sonia has also been threatening Arjun warning him that she would damage his marriage with Ann. The lost mobile phone lands in front of Ansari who works as a cleaner in a supermarket. Ansari immediately takes the phone and runs away from Arjun into a mob.

Both Arjun and Ansari are extreme opposites in their characters. Ansari is the kind of person who feels that he can buy anything in the world with money. He wants people to run at his fingertips obeying each and every order of his. He is also a careful planner and makes sure that he becomes more successful in his career. On the other hand, Ansari does not have any great ambitions in life. He feels that he can never become any big person. Infact, he is always insulted by other people and fate also never seems to take his side. For him, he is at one end of the world whereas the rest of the people are at the other end. Unlike Arjun, money is the last thing that is there on Ansari's mind. It is when the phone lands in Ansari's hands that Arjun tries to follow him and requests him to return the mobile.Vineeth and Fahadh Ansari begins to like the situation as it is the first time in his entire life that someone was talking to him with respect. Ansari is not at all aware of any financial dealings that he could make out of the situation or about posing a blackmail offer to Arjun if he returned the mobile. All that Ansari cares about is the voice of a human being who is ready to do as he says. This happiness makes the chase for Arjun all the more difficult as Ansari begins to enjoy the attention that he is getting and keeps running away from Arjun. The entire chase ends in a violent way with both of them literally tearing each other apart. Finally they both calm down and go away from each other to their own worlds.

Review of Chappa Kurishu Malayalam movie

One could say that the storyline of the film is not so great or worth taking too much time because of which it would have been better if the duration of the film was reduced to a shorter time. The plus points of the film are the acting of the male leads and the impact of the short storyline which makes the audience sit and think about the situation of both the characters. Though the film moves through a dark phase which could mislead people to think that the film portrays negative thoughts, in reality the film actually promotes optimism. The characters in the film learn through their errors in life and move on to better heights with a lot of courage.

As far as individual performances are concerned, the person who walks away with the trophy is Fahadh Faasil who has surprisingly shocked the audience with his excellent portrayal of Arjun. Vineeth Srinivasan has already proved his mettle through many of his earlier films and Chappa Kurishu can also be added to his list of good films in terms of acting. Remya Nambeeshan has also acted well and looks great too creating a good niche for herself in the film industry through this movie. The music of Chappa Kurishu, which has been composed by Rex Vijayan, has also managed to impress the audience to a huge extent. The camera works of Jomon T John has also been exceptional and has helped the film to work wonders. The film portrays some of the harsh realities of life.
